How does RadiDox work for Radiologists?
RadiDox uses our MDx Structured Templates
specifically designed for Radiology reports. Our templates
are enabled with our proprietary, point and click MDx Technology
that speeds report completion. Speech recognition is used
to record positive findings and all impressions except normal
impressions.
Do you have templates for all modalities?
Our MDx Template Library contains templates
for radiography, MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, mammography,
and nuclear medicine.
How can RadiDox increase my revenues?
Studies show that turnaround time is the
most significant factor in a referring physician's choice
of an Imaging Center. Better, more readable, and promptly
provided reports generate more referrals. With RadiDox,
the report is faxed to the referring physician or uploaded
to your Website immediately upon signing.
How can RadiDox decrease my costs?
RadiDox eliminates the need to pay a transcriptionist.
Transcription costs are a major line item in most radiology
practices. How much does your practice spend on transcription?
A properly designed RadiDox system will
decrease labor costs and increase the amount of time the
physician has available to read more film or to have a life
outside of the office.
In a hospital environment, reports can
be printed at the place where they were ordered. For example,
a report ordered in the ER would be printed there. A report
ordered on the floor, would be printed on the floor.
How can RadiDox save me time?
With RadiDox, it takes the radiologist
less time to produce the report. As compared with traditional
dictation, timesaving averages two minutes per report. In
addition, "wet reads" are reduced or eliminated.
Reviewing charts is as easy as a couple of mouse clicks.
This is an additional time-saver when you are consulting
with a colleague.
How can RadiDox save time for my staff?
Your staff will no longer have to receive,
fax, and file transcribed reports. Looking up information
on a computer is inherently faster and more efficient that
finding the patient chart and then looking through the chart
to find the desired information. Case studies created by
RadiDox can be copied or faxed quickly without leaving the
workstation to find the paper chart or to use the fax machine.
What methods of importing patient demographics will work
with RadiDox?
RadiDox will import patient demographics
in any standard format including HL7. If your practice management
system or your hospital information system can export patient
demographics, we can import them. In addition RadiDox can
import the radiology order, saving the radiologist time.
Does RadiDox require special hardware?
The performance of the speech engine is
hardware dependent. If your workstations are below speech-standards,
we will specify or furnish high-quality Voice Workstations
to for your radiologists. Staff workstations should run
under Microsoft XP Professional operating system.
I am a novice computer user; what is the learning curve?
Learning enough RadiDox functionality to
create notes takes less than an hour. Most people learn
the basics during our online demo. The best way to become
familiar with the templates is to use them in your practice.
Speed increases with usage.
I have heard mixed reports on speech recognition.
Does speech recognition really work?
Yes. Speech recognition is now capable
of producing professional quality work with error rates
that approximate the error rate of traditional dictation-transcription.
Besides a quality speech engine, you will
need a high-quality, speech capable computer. You will become
familiar with talking to a computer. There are approximately
a dozen commands that you will learn. You will also to learn
to enunciate clearly to obtain maximum accuracy.
Is RadiDox HIPPA compliant?
Yes, RadiDox will support your HIPPA compliance
program. Transmissions over the Internet are encrypted as
required by HIPPA. Password protection is available for
your computers. Of course, you must follow all required
compliance procedures such as placing monitors where they
are not visible to unauthorized people.
Can I extract patient information from RadiDox for use in
other programs?
Yes. We can create custom reports that
will extract desired information from patient records.
What if I want my own templates?
We have over three hundred MDx Structured
Templates for radiology. You may modify these templates
to your own documenting style, and you may create new templates
to meet your specific documenting needs. We will create
new templates for you or help you create them yourself.
Do all radiologists in the office have to use the same templates?
No. Each radiologist may have a unique
template set.
Can I search my patient records for specific information?
Yes. Our research function allows you to
search on one or more variables.
All this sounds expensive. How much does RadiDox cost?
Cost depends on the size and complexity
of the system you choose to install. As a rule of thumb,
monthly cost will be approximately 50% of you current transcription
costs. This means that you will get all the benefits of
RadiDox and still increase your year-end profits by 50%
of your transcription cost.
What is the next step?
Schedule an
online demonstration so that you can judge RadiDox
functionality for yourself.
